I got this to use on my bass for home recording. I don't use it because it produces a hiss sound. So, I use it when I play live instead. It really does work and sounds great. It boosts the fatness of my bass on a 90w amp and makes it sound like 200w. The pedal, however is made of plastic, rather than metal, so, it is not recommended that you abuse it, or stomp on it really hard. I've had it for about a year and have had no problems so far.
