I bought this for an old Alvares of mine. The plain black stock scratchplate was shrinking and had those ugly wrinkles. So I ordered this one (What a price!) to cover the lighter grain that was under the old one. Not because I wanted to immitate a Gibson Hummingbird, but because I like hummingbirds in general. The vine work is in a clean grey and the bird is a metallic gold. The picture doesn't do it justice. It was easy to apply and the bond feels strong. It was also easy to trim with a good pair of scizzors. Fantastic buy, I would recommend to anyone wanting to spice up their acoustic
