This is a pretty good tuner that works with both violin and guitar. A few convenience & usability issues worth noting:1. Turning the tuner on requires push-and-hold of one of the 6 buttons on the unit's face for several seconds. This is cumbersome and you have to be careful to not err with the buttons, or can easily end up sounding a disruptive metronome or A-tone, when all you intended was the quiet tuning display.
2. Dust sometimes lodges in the mode switch, making it look like it is in vibration mode when it is actually not fully over.
3. The plastic clip broke after the 1-yr warranty, making the unit unusable in vibration mode.
4. This unit doesn't work well in non-vibration mode when there is ambient noise like other musicians in the room.
Positives:
The display is easy to read, and the head rotates and tilts making it easy to position & view on the instrument.
