D'Addario Half Round bass strings are wound with pure nickel, then precision ground, leaving the outer surface smooth and "semi-flat." They retain the flexibility and many of the tonal characteristics of round wound strings. Our Half Round heat-treating process increases the brightness of the strings.

I put these silky strings on my Warwick Rockbass. Nice change in the way the bass plays compared to the Warwick strings. The strings have a nice smooth feel and a nice clean sound. The half rounds really reduce the string noise as the fingers move over the strings. Just an impressive set. After about a month or so they still perform well and have mellowed a bit (can't really measure that). I'll buy another set when these wear out.
