I have been playing guitar for a little over 10 years and I really love these strings. I have tried brands such as GHS, Ernie Ball, Dr, and more, but these seem to have one of the best feel. They have a real clarity in tone and are a great match especially for someone starting out playing, it will help their fingers not bleed as much because of the feel. The only brand that I think is a bit better is Dean Markley Blue Steels. They last longer, are brighter, and I am liking the feel a bit better as well. None the less, for the price and over all value, these strings are awesome, and even in my house, you will find a dozen sets ready to string up!

Tech 21 BSDR SansAmp Bass Driver DI Review

I got this pedal for its distortion sound after borrowing a friends SansAmp Bass Driver DI and falling in love with it. I had to purchase my own. After using it for a few months it has become an essential part of my full time sound. I don't use it as a distortion pedal anymore but as a full time pre-amp for live shows, rehearsals, and recording studios. Although, this pedal does offer my favorite distortion sound for electric bass. My favorite sounding bass ever has Bartolini Mark V pickups and preamps. I introduced the BSDR and now when I play the bass with out the BSDR the bass sounds dull. It's because I'm so used to the great tone of the pedal now. I only have the drive turned up a 1/4 way at the most, which adds a nice punch. The pedal adds lots of presence, and fat, well rounded tone in the low end. I have gotten compliments from producers/engineers in several studios already, as well as compliments at live shows from fans and sound engineers. This has been the best piece of equipment I have purchased for my professional bass playing career. It adds a confidence that changes the way you play!

Allparts Tremol-No Tremolo Locking Device - Pin Type Review

It was a little tricky to install because I already had springs in the 4th slot but once I got it in I'm pretty happy with it. It is really really nice to be able to tune between standard and drop d and do string bends without the other strings going out of tune. I've found that it will only provide so much resistance so you really need to remember that you have it locked because using the bar still gives you enough leverage to pull the tremolo which will probably wear out the set screws. I've only found the dive only mode to be a little soft so again you have to be a little careful to not accidentally move the setscrew. I think these are two minor things though and once you adjust to it it's a pretty nice system.

Boss TU-80C Chromatic Tuner & Metronome Review

I like the accuracy of the tuner, and it "hears" my acoustic guitar quite well if I put it on the music stand so that it's angled toward me. As a metronome, however, it leaves much to be desired: (1) the volume is not adjustable and I consider it not loud enough, (2) it makes a cheesy electronic chirp instead of a mechanical-sounding knock as some of the electronic metronomes can, and (3) the rhythm is "dotted," i.e., it puts a milder electronic chirp in between the "main chirps" and there's no way to turn it off (but this can be somewhat remedied by setting it to 1-4 time).

I've bought a number of different nut extenders and these are the best. More mass than most of the other brands so the tone is better. They fit most normal nuts. Nickel so, while not glossy, is resistant to rust. At the end of the day, they just sound great. They are about $1.50 more than most of the other extenders but well worth that by far.

Dean Markley VintageBronze LT 2002 Acoustic Guitar Strings (.011-.052) Review

I've been using Dean Markley's Blue Steals for my electric for years. Recently, just got back into acoustics to play some blues. I took my friends advice and forked out the bucks for EXPs and Elixirs. They are great stings but I just wanted a low price alternative, basic string that sounded nice. After all, I tend to do a thorough cleaning of my guitars and I like to change my stings every 1 to 2 months, not to mention that I like the sound of uncoated stings over that of coated ones when using a slide. Little did I know that the company that made my beloved Blue Steal Electric guitar stings also made great basic, reliable acoustic stings for a great price. Vintage Bronze Lights fit the bill for me perfectly!!! As far as the sound goes, I found that these strings have a perfect balance of a bright and full sound. I use them on my 000 or orchestra model size guitar and they sound great. To be honest, I have yet to try them on my Dreadnought and Jumbo.

Its funny when I go to the local Guitar center and Sam Ashes, the sales people tell me that they never see anyone buy these strings. Everyone always buys EXPs and Elixirs. Oh well, let it be my little secret and let the coffee house hipster guitarist and guitar snobs fork up the big bucks for the nanowebs. I'll stick with these strings for my everyday playing needs. (Confession: I do have "Nanowebs" on my other guitar that I don't play very much and they are kick ass strings. I say, if you can afford them on a regular basis, by all means, fork out the cabbage for them). I'll stick with a pack of DM Vintage Bronzes, and go out and buy me a slide or 2 (I always lose the damn things...lol) with the spare change. I recommend the 11 lights!!!
