I have tried all those fancy picks and these without a doubt are the best. They have just enough grip for sweaty hands, but the material doesn't change the tone of the guitar. It's not just the feel that I love about these guys, it's that tone it brings with it. I was a proud supporter of the .58's for a good year and a half, and those could pull off anything from twang to metal... but sadly, they were a bit too flexible for my taste, so I bumped it up to the .71's. These bring with it a fuller, more solid tone (I play mostly hard rock and metal/djent), and they don't have that annoying strumming sound that you can hear while even your amp is on. Basically, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!!

Thee only flatwound strings I've tried that sound significantly better than these are the Thomastiks, which cost twice as much, and they're not twice as good. Maybe if I was a working pro I'd buy the Thomastiks, but for me, the D'Addarios sound good, and last a long time.

If you've never played flatwounds, you might be surprised to discover that they far outlast round wound strings. That's because what kills the sound of strings is gunk from your fingers and the air getting in between the windings and damping the vibration. Back when guitar strings were more a lot more expensive, it wasn't that unusual to remove strings, boil them, and put them back on. Some electric bassists still do this.) With flats, the gunk doesn't get in between the wraps, and if you don't break a string you can play a set for months.

I have different guitars set up with different strings ranging from .010s (my Fenders) to .013 (my archtop.) Rockers playing .010s and .009s might be intimidated by .013s, but they're not that much harder to play, and after a little practice it's easy. Jazzers seldom if ever play six-string bar chords or bend strings, which means you just don't need that much muscle anyway. Flatwounds are also generally set with a fairly low action. They don't vibrate as widely as roundwounds, so they don't need as much clearance.

If you're looking for that classic electric jazz guitar sound, flats are the way to go, and the D'Addarios are as good as you need. (Rockers looking for that 60s sound might try the D'Addario flatwound .010s. Almost the same sound as the Pyramids, and a lot cheaper.)

In my opinion Snark makes the best tuners in the 10 to 20 dollar price range. This particular model has a metronome built in to it, the metros options are a bit limited and the beat can be lost if you are in a noisy environment but for the price I consider I bought a tuner with a freebie built in.
The tuner obviously works on mic alone so if the noise level gets too high or the note too soft it doesn't register but for my use (holding my fakebook open while I play mando and harmonica) it works well.

For those complaining about non-functioning units, when I got mine I couldn't get any sound from the output. When I put the guitar cable in there was about 1/8th inch of room left between the jack and the pedal but it felt like it was in all the way. I tried pushing it in with a bit more force and it finally snapped in the rest of the way. Then the pedal worked fine. Now it snaps in with no effort. A great pedal, $33 for a brand new circuit and components vs. $160 for a 30 year old Boss DM-2. It really does sound amazing. If you are concerned about the plastic case, knobs and jacks, find someone with soldering skills to put it in a sturdier housing. No regrets. This pedal sounds as good any basic analog delay in my collection (EHX, Boss, Ibanez).

Reputedly the Joyo Us Dream is a copy of the Suhr Riot distortion pedal. After watching a side by side comparison on Youtube, I decided to buy one.
I would describe the Us Dream as sounding like a bright Proco Rat with a little less sustain and a much tighter low end. It has an MXR style enclosure (that means you have to remove the back plate to change batteries) and a surprisingly narrow sweet spot. But for $48 dollars I'm happy with purchase.
