As with all Monster Cable products, this is expensive. However, in this case I think it is worth the expense. The cable is solidly build, and the connections are very positive. There is no noise associated with either oxidation on the connector, or weak cable to connector soldering. Also, there is a lot of EM interference where I play, and I have noticed that there is absolutely no 60HZ hum when using this cable, showing that it is well shielded and grounded. I will probably buy another.

This is an excellent footswitch. The buttons are easy to push. They don't click, so they make less noise on the platform. I use it in church, and between songs is usually where I make setting changes, and I hate the click sound of most effects pedals, this one lets you tap into just about any feature of the amp with little effort or noise. I use even at home while practicing, because it is so easy to hook up and use. The only downside is the cord is real long and does not lay flat on the platform, so I have to either be careful that it does not get tripped over, tape it down, or put something over it. Not a big deal though, still well worth the purchase.

Behringer RV600 Reverb Machine Ultimate Reverb Modeling Effects Pedal Review

So I should start off this review by saying that I did an ENORMOUS amount of research for this purchase. Bradford Cox's use of the pedal initially caught my attention and I have been planning on buying this pedal ever since for over a year now and just finally made my purchase a week ago.

I should put a big preface over this review: I'm disappointed.

The pedal offered some pretty neat features that I really was looking for: a true Mix/Blend, Decay, Time, and Tone knob. It seemed to have everything I needed. I particularly wanted the blend knob because I really wanted to mix and record with this pedal through my Tascam recorders' effect sends. The pedal also seemed to have a pretty cool array of effects that would help me in my playing.

I planned on rehousing the pedal so I wasn't too disappointed by the build quality, which is pretty terrible, but once I plugged in the pedal, I could tell pretty quickly that it was no good. The sound of the reverb is very tinny, and pretty poor sounding. I've only had the pedal for a little bit, but it seems to be lacking the full bass response that most of my other /extremely/ crappy pedals worked so wonderfully for. The sound just wasn't cutting it for me. I tried fiddling with the tone knob but didn't get anything worthwhile. The space feature was especially disappointing, and didn't really have much of a shimmer to it, rather just a really poorly pitch shifted echo. The knobs are so skinny that the pedal is almost impossible to work with, so no editing with your feet is possible.

I am not convinced that reverb is one of those "you get what you pay for" sort of deals, so I'm still looking, but if you're very picky about your reverb, I wouldn't choose this pedal.

What a case. I had to buy another case, the first one I bought was the exact same thing but paid I $75 when I bought my Jazzmaster from a place up in Boston. I bought another Jazzmaster that need its own case and I stumbled upon this awesome case again. You will not be disappointed this case is hard rock. The only down side is no metal stubs on the foot on the case to have it standing up and not damage the case skin but its fine it can be held like in the photo or on the sides. I paid under $20 for this, and it's certainly worth that price. The only place it looks cheap is the underside of the sliding pad, which is white felt. It works fine, just looks a little 'unfinished.' I got this strap for a play at a professional theater company; it was a bio-musical set in the 1940's. I really came to like it over the course of rehearsals and performances (about eight weeks). In several scenes I needed to wear the guitar slung across my back, and found that this strap left enough room on the endpin for the addition of a cotter pin clip from the hardware store, which cost about 50 cents and never failed to hold the thing securely. A six dollar Martin guitar strap button attached the other end to the headstock. So there was the solution for wearing an acoustic guitar with a built-in pickup upside-down without worry - $18 strap, $6 button, $.50 cotter clip. The sliding pad can be removed if you so desire, but the slots in it are a good place to stick an extra pick, so I left them on.

Monster Rock - 21' Instrument Cable - Straight to Straight 1/4" plugs Review

I've been performing for years and the last thing you need when on stage is having an equipment failure. That's why it makes sense to pony up the extra money for a Monster cable as instrument cables are a common failure point. I've been using all Monster cables for both my guitar and my bass rigs for the last four years and I have no complaints. These cables are very sturdy, even though I have had a couple fail on me. One time the cable end fell apart, which I think was a fluke, like a "lemon" chord, the other time was due to abuse caused by me. ( Bass cabinet loaded into the truck with the speaker cable still in the back, got laid on it's back and the cable end got bent off)

The best thing about Monster cables is that they have a life time guarantee, really no matter WHAT happens to them. In both cases I simply took the broken cables up to a Guitar Center and they were replaced, with no questions asked or even receipts. This is my first time ordering from Amazon, but I understand that GC will replace these cables the same way, either way, the lifetime guarantee and the sturdy build of these cables as well as the great sound with no hissing, pops or cracks make them a sound investment.

Keep in mind when ordering that Monster makes their cables instrument specific. They have one cable designed for bass guitars, another designed for guitar and another designed for your head to speaker. For the best sound response, pay attention to this when ordering.

You might pay a little more but the peace of mind and the great quality of these cables is worth it. Also, for this 21 footer GC charges about $49.00 so I saved $15 or so going through Amazon.

Xotic EP Booster Mini EQ Effect Pedal Review

I bought this pedal a two months ago mainly for use in the studio. I have used it on a quiet a few sessions so far and absolutely love what this pedal does for my tone. I would not buy this pedal if you were expecting it to only be a squeaky clean machine. In my opinion this pedal is a warming and thickening booster. I basically keep it on all of the time. If you turn on the pedal your amp will get louder, even at it's lowest setting. If (without the pedal) I turn the volume knob of a given amp up louder, I will not get the same sound as I would using the EP Booster. As you probably know...the EP Booster derived from the preamp section of an Echoplex. Most of the time I use the pedal after my Overdrive/Distortion pedals. I love the way it enlarges/thickens and cleans things up that way. If I use the pedal before my Overdrive pedals I still dig the sound, however I feel that it pushes more the sound of the Overdrive in front of it and I hear the EP Booster's effect slightly less. I would and have recommended this pedal to other studio cats and fellow musicians. It's a great deal for a small box that brings so much to the table. I play pop, rock, blues, country and jazz... and find it very effective for all of these styles. Just a little side not. I personally never really turn up the booster past about 2-3 O'clock. I found that I became slightly too aggressive for what I wanted to use it for (maybe that's because of the way it's pushing the amp????).
