VOX AMPHONEAC30 Active Guitar Headphones Review

Got these from my wife for Christmas yesterday and hooked them up as soon as I could. The plastic is somewhat cheap but likely contributes to how light they are which is nice. The pros make this a great item, the cons I can live with.

Pros:
1) Amazing sound, I'm getting some really nice tone out of these with my LAG acoustic electric
2) They have the VOX AmPlug AC30 basics but add a tone control which I now wish the AmPlug AC30 had (I have that item too)

Cons:
1) The most significant issue is that there's little mention of the tone control in the manual. It is marked from 1-10 but there's no description for what the numbers represent. I have it set on 8 which sounds great but being a beginner I have no idea what mix of reverb, chorus, and delay I am hearing.
2) The cable is a little short and not at all heavy duty, I worry about snagging it and damaging it
3) The ear cups are round and only just big enough to fit me, wish they were slightly larger or elongated for a better fit

I recommend these and would buy another pair if they broke or were lost.

BBE 882i Sonic Maximizer Review

The BBE 882i, is simply amazing. It has done more for my setup than anything else I have purchased thus far. I use it with both a Korg Triton Studio 88 key keyboard and a Nuemann tlm 103. The BBE 882i is the second thing in my signal chain (right after my preamp) and the effect on my sound is no less than profound. When used with a Korg Triton Studio keyboard the clarity produced is absolutely stunning( not to say it was bad before, when I bought it new about 4 years back,it was $6,000 us and to this day is still one of the best keyboards on the market) but the BBE 882i makes it sound so much better. When the used with the Neumann 103, once again the clarity produced is amazing (I like the sound it produces better than a u87). I have also used it with much cheaper mics such as the Studio Projects C1 and an Audio Technica 2020 with great results. I would suggest this to anyone who owns a recording studio or has a home studio. One word of advice I would suggest setting all the levels on the 882i to level 6 ( this seems to give the best results with large diaphragm condenser microphones and keyboards).

I got this to use on my bass for home recording. I don't use it because it produces a hiss sound. So, I use it when I play live instead. It really does work and sounds great. It boosts the fatness of my bass on a 90w amp and makes it sound like 200w. The pedal, however is made of plastic, rather than metal, so, it is not recommended that you abuse it, or stomp on it really hard. I've had it for about a year and have had no problems so far.

I've only been playing guitar for 6 months... so take what you will from my review. I was using some old picks that were passed down. I cannot believe the difference it made stepping up to these. Playing so much easier (smoother). Seriously I couldnt believe something this small made that big a difference. Night and day. All new picks like this might be the same though... i dont know. Gerlitz GEWOR The Works Cleaning Kit Review

Actually, I bought this kit mainly is for the fretboard honey to protect my guitars and uku after reading the good reviews of the fretboard honey itself. So, I decided to buy this kit that comes with handy cleaning and conditioning staff all I need in one.

First time to use this kit after reading the instructions individually, and I mistakenly rubbed the wax on the fretboard as the fretboard honey. After I polished the entire fretboard, I noticed it looked odd ... and I used the fretboard honey and rub off the wax ... then, it looks much better...I shouldn't have done that after a long day work. :P

The fretboard honey moistures the dried fretboard with nice reddish protective honey, which absorts well into the fretborad. It doesn't have any oily feel after polishing evenly. I like the wax one too; it not only protects the guitar from scretches and dust, but also prevents the annoying finger prints especially the glossy finished guitars. Now, I don't have to clean the finger prints on the guitar everytime I practice. By the way, I applied it on my satin finished guitar and uku too. Although it doesn't have the dramatic result as the glossy one has since the guitar doesn't show the finger prints, it does the protective jobs. The cleaning & polishing cloths are soft and work well for its own jobs.

Over all, I love this kit to clean and protect my guitars and ukes. highly recommended!

Clean: gorgeous sustain, tight lows, rich harmonics from upper mids and above to swirling 3D chime.

Overdriven: lows stay tight but get deeper, mids smoothly saturate with very dirty blues/classic rock friendly compression, and the chimey highs inspire! Just gorgeous!

OK here is the size of case from outside to inside! outside of case first..((outside 42" long X 17" wide lower bout(body) X 14" upper bout (body) X 7" neck(wide) & length and 5 3/4" Deep!)) now inside 401/4" long X 14 3/4" wide lower bout (body) X 11 3/4" upper bout (body) and neck length(wide)4 5/8" & 3 1/2" deep!... so the out side is 42 x 17 x 14 x 7 x 5 3/4 and the inside is 40 1/4 x 14 3/4 x 11 3/4 x 3 1/2!! when I ordered there was no size but 6x7x43 and some other guy said his fit like a glove well he is on something get off the drugs! my Takamine would not fit no way no how and now I am playing games with Amazon, almost every case I looked at had bad dimensions and when asked they no nothing about it? say what? keep buying till you get it right? say what again? how dumb how can they sell this case with no dimensions? well now you can buy it knowing the dimensions as posted here! Now for the case it self well built its like a tank well worth the money I say if it fits your guitar go and get one very nice case! for me my guitar just would not fit no matter what I did I was sad to send it back eBay is selling the same thing with the same dimensions 6x7x43 HOW DUMB! if that was the real size no guitar would fit! I'm a Elixir string user, and thought I'd try these. They have more friction than I'm comfortable with. Their tone is pretty good, although the basses to my ears aren't as bright as Elixirs. I won't discourage you from buying them if you're searching for a new sound and are sold on coated strings, but I don't think they're superior to Elixirs.
