If you need to travel with your Steinberger, then the soft-case provided with the instrument just won't do. You need a hard-shell case. There aren't a lot to choose from. It's a specialty guitar, and it has a specialty case, direct from the OEM.

This case is reasonably well built and attractive. Even though the Steinberger guitar is not as long as a regular guitar, the case for the Steinberger is. Talk about spacious! It's overly spacious. Why, you could put the guitar and several other instruments in there. The top of the case is probably 6-7" away from the top of the guitar. The case isn't shaped anything like the guitar's svelte profile. This case is essentially a box. A too-big box, the same size as any other guitar case.

One doesn't have much choice here, so its hard to complain too much. Of course, one might consider that since there isn't any choice, it sure would be nice if that choice was a really good one.

It's only mediocre.
