I've tried pedals from Xotic Effects before and they're a good company ... solid products and reliability. I watch some videos of this compressor and the tone sounded great, so I took a chance and am glad I did. The mini toggle lets you choose between low, mid, and high compression settings, the blend knob lets you dial in the unaffected guitar signal to help it sound more natural, and the volume helps to maintain unity volume when you kick it on, or let it boost your signal for solos. Inside there are 4 dip switches that let you choose, fast or slow attack and release, and low and high cut for frequencies to either brighten or darken the tone. Amazing to have so much control in such a small pedal. I've had it for several weeks now and often just set it for low compression with equal wet and dry mix, and leave it on to let the notes ring out. Give it a try if you are tired of compressors that 'squash' the notes.

Behringer TM300 Tube Amp Modeling Effects Review

Sorry for the weak pun. I have never tried any OD/Modeler pedal above a hundred bucks, so I can't say how it stacks up to the more expensive pedals. I can tell you that the TM300 is King of the affordable pedal category. Although it doesn't fully replicate the actual sound dynamics of a tube amp, it comes very close. The tone is full and rich. I use an Agile Al3000 stock thru a Roland Cube 40xl and this pedal makes my guitar scream. I can even get pinch harmonics on my neck pickup to sing and sustain. This pedal is a great bargain. I read in another review "If this pedal broke every month, I would buy a new one every month", it sounds that good. I have had this pedal for about five months and no issues. I do recommend the power adapter though. Honestly, at this price you can't go wrong. I can't say enough good things about the TM300, it is a valued tool in my musical arsenal.

Update: We are all on a quest for the perfect tone, this pedal is unsurpassed thus far. The list of pedals I have purchased on Ebay is extensive. To name a few: Hardwire SC-2, Hardwire Tl-2, Metal Master, Modtone Speedbox, Vintage Tube Monster, Keeley DS-1, and many, many others. But this little guy has not been challenged yet. I keep thinking that something this cheap has to have a nemesis, a rival that will remove it from the #1 spot on my board. Truth is...Haven't found it yet.

Peavey Ampkit Link HD Review

I've been using iOS-based effects for a few years now. My favorite apps are iShred Live and AmpKit+. I've had issues with analog links, including excessive noise , feedback and too quiet sound, especially using AmpKit+. This new digital link, Peavey Ampkit Link HD" works perfectly with both apps. The sound is clean and the output volume is plenty loud.

The only drawback is that the output is a 1/8" plug, so you will need an adapter to use this with an amplifier for live performance. Also, an adapter is required to use this with the new iPhone 5. Other than that, it performs perfectly well at a reasonable price. Don't bother with the less expensive adapters, as they are analog instead of digital and you will suffer feedback and noise.

Unlike other pedals, like the Dan Electo Corned Beef pedal, this sounds like a true reverb. I has a decent sound, expecially for the money. The only drawback is a level of hiss that seems a big high. However, If you're gign' people will be talking, clanking glasses, etc. So a bit of hiss won't matter. I wouldn't use this pedal for recording unless you use a gate with it. For the money it is a good deal, and isn't just a delay pedal masquerading as a reverb. It sounds like reverb.

this is a heavy duty and large music stand. The shelf is narrow but will hold up to a medium size binder. Works great if you are sitting and using the stand. if you are standing when you play you can't angle the stand at enough of an angle that you can see it when close enough to use the mic. the arm is a bit too short to get a good 'up' angle. works better with a tripod mic stand. if using a round base mic stand with a goose neck the stand will fall over with the wight of the music stand and the weight of the mic when pulled forward over the music stand all on one side.

Boss FV-500L Volume Pedal - Low Impedence Review

i bought this pedal sometime in either 2005 or 2006. A few months ago the play in the pedal gave away, but the pedal itself still sounded just fine. no poping or anything. I took it to a local music store, and they found out that 2 screws inside the pedal were aparently over stressed and were broke in two. The heads of the screws were easy to get out, but the remainder of them had to be fished out, and new screws were custom cut to replace the old ones. The repair only costed $20 some dollars. I assumed the damage was a fluke thing.

Then about a week ago, i went to go use the pedal for some volume/delay swells and the same problem started happening again. i have not abused this pedal in any way, and have used it sparingly. I am under the impression that it is a design flaw. I could get fix it again, but whats the point if the problem will just occur again? at least the pedal lasted about 6 years. I think I am going to get an ernie ball jr volume next time, hopefully i will have better luck with that.
