These 'Tortex' picks are supposed to duplicate the feel of tortoise-shell picks, which are now unavailable due to environmental laws protecting tortoises. They have a nice tacky feel and a flexibility that varies with thickness. The .6 mm Tortex version was recommended to beginners in a video I watched, but I thought I'd get a six pack of Tortex picks with different thicknesses. The .6 is VERY forgiving when strumming chords but is maybe too floppy for serious playing. I found a slightly thicker one felt better and gave a more precise action. They all feel good in your hand, and getting a variety pack is a nice way to explore your options.
