This stuff isn't cheap (you can also get it in larger nail polish size bottles), but a little goes a long way and it's worth every penny.

I'm an electrical engineer. I don't like intermittent stuff.
I use it on every cable, battery contact etc.
New, used, whatever. Before I plug it in, I add a dab to the contact surfaces.

Never again need to rattle a flashlight.
Never again need to wiggle a USB connector to get it to work.

If you have an intermittent, this will fix it.
If you use it, you won't have one.

TC Electronic Flashback X4 Delay and Looper Review

Sold my original Flashback delay to buy this and couldn't be happier! Having 3 presets is fantastic and the sound this thing puts out is even better! Every delay mode is exceptional. The analog mode is VERY close to the MXR Carbon Copy (more on that later). The ability to add the Toneprints is also great! Check out the 'Energy' Toneprint by (I forgot who, but it's the only one called that). I'm powering with my DC Brick without any problems.

I wouldn't even call these cons, but here is the only area TC could improve: Once you store a preset, and then create another delay type/sound, you have no way of knowing where your knobs where set for that original preset (unless you remember). It would be nice if the respective knob light would light up once its 'home' position is reached for that particular preset. I'm just happy to have delay presets without having an FX processor.

The size is just barely over 9 inches wide by about 5 inches high. That said, it's still smaller than other pedals in its class.

Now back to the MXR Carbon Copy: I have a CC too and planned to sell it along with my original Flashback when I bought the X4. I couldn't do it. While very close, I just couldn't part with the sound of the CC. That said, I can't imagine giving up either the CC or the X4.

It should also be mentioned that the presets are in fact a 'true' preset. If you alter any knob or change the tempo switch on a different setting, you're original preset you saved will be recalled regardless of any knob or switch position.

Who needs all the plugins? There's no need for a PC. I installed the Triple Play on my Variax, connected the controller's receiver to my iPad Mini, opened one of my synth apps, and played. It worked right off the bat. After that, I did install the basic PC software to adjust string sensitivity. Now it tracks as well as my Roland equipped guitars. I do t need a computer to play live at all. I mount the iPad Mini on a music stand and change software instruments on the fly while performing. I've lightened my load by eliminating a Roland synth and dropped the 13-pin cable for the freedom of wireless.

Planet Waves Black Ice Guitar Picks, 10 pack, Medium Review

I'm really happy with the Black Ice Heavy picks (1.10 mm), which I bought after being badly disappointed with my last order of Dunlop Jazz IIIs.

I would call the Black Ice picks medium sized. They are roughly the same size and shape as Fender 551 picks, but a little bigger than the Jazz IIIs. They are stiffer than the 551s and perhaps a touch less stiff than the IIIs (and thinner than the IIIs too).

One thing that may account for the nice way the Black Ice perform is that the edges are beveled and smoothly finished in a way which differs from the 551s (which I still like) and from the Jazz IIIs.

In terms of playability, they are about the same to me as any other pick of this shape and stiffness.

But the most important thing to me is the hardest thing to communicate to you: The tone. I love the tone I get with these picks, and the best I can do for you is to say that I was looking for a pick that would generate a solid, mellow jazz tone with an archtop - a tone that reminds me of say, Barney Kessel (but without Barney's chops of coursse). This is what the Black Ice delivers.

This is a really excellent value for a guitar stand. Because if it's light weight, I'm not sure that I would recommend it in heavy traffic areas or on a stage floor with bandmates jumping all around it. However, when resting during practice by yourself or with friends, this nifty tripod does the job, and the two-one color scheme (black metal overall, with a tawny colored large-U rest for the guitar's bottom and a tawny U-shaped holder for the middle of the neck)is understated but stylish.

Even with the relative light weight, the stand can easily hold a very heavy aluminum neck Kramer bass made 25 or more years ago when heavy was "in." Make sure that you extend the three tripod legs all the way out and up, or it simply won't work. The tripod, the overall design and fairly low center of gravity, and a backwards tilt combine to give good stability. There's some play in the bottom U-holder, this goes away when you place your instrument on it. If necessary, you can manually separate the stand into three pieces for storage or transport.

As a bass player I own very few pedals - an EBS Multi-Comp and Octabass, the latter I'm about to ditch for an Electro-Harmonix Mini POG - so when I heard this box at a bass store in Colorado I was hooked. Luscious deep Leslie sounds that sound wonderful at nearly every setting. You can almost feel that horn spinning around. I read somewhere that the pre-sets in the manual where the best, and to my surprise they were right. I have a geezer-like penchant for Jaco-style harmonics, and this box brings them out with such beautiful subtleties. And all this for under a hundred bucks? Cop a walk, EBS!

Ernie Ball 2728 7-String Cobalt Electric Guitar, Regular Slinky (10 - 56) Review

Sound clearer, more pronounced, they last longer, and they do not wear on my fingers near as much.

If they are easier on my fingers, then in theory they should be easier on the fretboard, and frets.

Don't let this fool you though, they are very strong strings.

Though since it is Cobalt (a toxic, and radioactive material) I always wash my hands after playing, even if its only a tiny amount.
