The dots are very small. When a string is out of tune is shows three red dots as the picture shows. Three green dots when in tune. However, when slightly out of tune, it shows dim red dots and dim green dots. As a result the display looks a bit blurry when your eyes are 6 feet away. No my vision is not perfect, but it is pretty good. I am returning it. I did not get to try it in sunlight.

DigiTech Whammyv-01 Guitar Pitch Effect Pedal Review

The 'chords' mode sounds great! No glitches in this mode, even 2 octaves up, but it still has that warm warble that whammy pedals are known for. It has very little to no latency, so fast solos don't sound glitchy. It feels much lighter than the last version, and is slightly smaller too. You can even do the intro to Voice of the Voiceless, because the signal doesn't cut out between settings.

Problems with the Whammy IV:
-volume drop
-doesn't stay calibrated
-AC power instead of 9volt DC
-not true bypass
-no polyphony

The Whammy V fixes ALL of these issues.

Planet Waves Dynaflex Gyro Hand Exerciser w/ Docking Station Review

IMPORTANT POINTS

--> This exerciser requires some practice to use. At first you will most likely have difficulties keeping spinning momentum (it requires a circular motion). You may have more difficulty with your non-dominant hand. That difficulty disappears with practice (a couple of sessions for me).

--> The motion required to keep the gyro spinning will exercise your wrist and forearm. If you want to work out more than just your wrist and forearm you will need to incorporate movements that target those areas you want to develop. This device is more like free weights than a weight machine. You have to direct the movements to what you are trying to achieve.

--> The base is just to provide a little acceleration to get started. You have to provide the motion to keep it going. The base is not necessary to get it started but is convenient. With some practice you can start it without the base (particularly after you get good at the motion to make the gyro spin)

--> After a year or two of use (depending on how often you use it), the gyro will start to get a bit noisy. Eventually you will need to replace it (I just ordered a new one). Since it is pretty inexpensive, it is not that big a deal.

BOTTOM LINE

This product is ideal for rotational wrist exercises that will help you for racket sports. It is also ok for overall arm exercises for a device of this diminutive size (about the same as a tennis ball). I would not recommend it as a replacement for all of your arm exercises, but then I would not expect that from a small and simple device like this. You should expect to have some learning curve to properly use the device, but I think it is well worth it.

Behringer KT108 15-Watt Keyboard Amplifier Review

The KT108 serves well as a general purpose amplifier for limited volume situations. I actually bought a second one and I essentially use them as powered speakers for a small Behringer stereo mixer, through which I run a couple mics, electric drums, keyboard, and on occassion acoustic guitar.

For limited volume situations, the KT108s perform pretty well, and seem to produce the sonic range reasonably well. They are not very loud; by way of comparison a 6 watt Line 6 Micro Spider amp produces (a little) more volume than the KT108 running a guitar into it. As you'd expect from a small amp, they are limited in how much air they can move and can only produce so much volume of the deep bass sounds a 76 keyboard can produce without rumbling. However, for my limited volume needs (ie practicing in a townhouse where I don't want to bother the neighbors too much) they are more than up to the job, and do a good job with the drums, organ, vocals and acoustic guitar.

Vox MINI3 3-Watt Guitar Combo Amplifier Review

This review is in two parts: Sound and Construction.

Sound: the Mini3 sounds great. It sounds great plugged in and it sounds great on six dinky batteries. The amp models are very impressive. You suddenly don't feel like you're playing out of a cheap little amp. There are a few effects as well but I tend to play clean so only have messed with echo and a bit of reverb and those are very nice. It says its a 5" speaker but this amp really pushes a lot of air. A nice practice amp and remarkable for the money.

Construction: I carried it to various classes and workshops two to three times per week so it has seen it all: getting dropped, kicked and bounced around. The strap buttons on the side pulled out of the case at three months of really working it. This revealed the particle frame. I simply drilled another hole and bolted the strap buttons and kept rocking. Now its starting to peel a bit. Its not as sturdy as a flight case. Ha.

Tiny Knobs. I love the models and have memorized most of the controls so I can just lean over and adjust them at a moment's notice. But if something goes awry I'm a mess for a bit. That stuff is really crammed together. I'm in my 40s so I no longer have eagle vision so its a pain. Not sure if there is a solution. Vox is giving you too much good stuff but it can be difficult to figure out sometimes while performing with it. I started to tape my favorite configurations on the top so I could dial them in quickly.

The little "wall wart" AC adapter looks ridiculous. It has this thin cable that is thinner than a phone cable. Other students in various classes have missed it and gotten tangled. Sometimes I just use batteries and sometimes i use a thicker extension cord to plug the wall wart into so its more obvious.

I would give this 5 stars but my friends with Fender Mustangs MINIs that were just as abused seem to be having better luck. Also playing in a room with a bunch of Mustangs blaring the Vox gets overwhelmed.

If you intend to use this at home add a star since you won't be punishing it.

Psalm 95:1 - Christian Guitar Strap Review

I have wanted this strap since I saw it and finally got it. A friend of mine had it, and from what I could tell everything about it looked really sturdy. Well finally just ordered one for myself. Strap is sturdy and strong and doesn't slide around on your shoulder much. Leather holds the guitar nuts well. However the plastic adjuster on it is weak plastic as I literally just broke it 20 minutes ago before writing this. Nothing a little super glue or duct tape wont fix. Be careful adjusting this strap so you don't do the same. Hey Kerusso! Please do guitar players a favor and use stronger plastic on this strap.
