I was looking to upgrade the pickups in my les paul to increase output, and really make it scream, and I came across these. I figured with the price so low, I couldn't go wrong because alone, the gold plated covers are about $12 a piece at the store. I was surprised. They really delivered. I use a very saturated tone in terms of gain, with a decent midrange and treble, and this thing really shined through. AND IT SCREAMS LIKE CRAZY NOW. All my harmonics pop and chime like bells. When played clean, the tone is great, it's real dirty, and with some work, you can clean it up a bit too. Both my drummer and singer told me that the difference was great. All the notes articulate very well, and are very clear now. You can really tell when you play it on tube amps as well. They have a fair amount of soul to them. Totally a deal, and I have a hard time saying that because I'm very picky with pickups. I've tried almost all the "high output" ones out there and will say these sound similar to my Seymour Duncan invaders. At least the bridge one anyways. Nice and balanced midrange and treble, not muddy either.
