Ernie Ball 2726 Cobalt Electric Guitar, Not Even Slinky (12 - 56) Review

Seriously, a 24 gauge string is too big to be plain. FYI, the strings that aren't wound aren't cobalt. Seems to me like they were just cutting corners for price, even though these typically go for $10-11 bucks a pack. -.-

The cobalt, like everyone has told me prior, is brighter then your standard nickel string. Normally, I wouldn't be about that, but lately I've been tuning to C standard and the brightness helps even out my sound. I don't just chug chug away power cords and nothing else, I like to hear my notes. ;)The plain 24 gauge 3rd sounds really dull, though.

They feel a bit different, as well. I'd appreciate the feel more if the 3rd was wound, cause' it feels like I'm playing a silky smooth string, then I go up to the 3rd, and BAM! an iron bar for a string... Well, maybe that's a little over-dramatic, but you get my point.

I'd almost recommend getting a wound nickel 3rd, since they don't sell cobalts individually, but I don't know how well that would work out 100%. Just a thought.
