I am a loyal D'Addario user. I usually buy standard strings but thought I would try the Pure Nickel. After using these on an LP Agile 3200, an Ibanez AM93 and my Strat I will not go back to the others. Warm tone, easy to bend and they seem to last though I use the GHS Fast Fret or Finger Ease to protect the strings.

First off this little red pick (Dunlop Jazz III) is for lead guitar players who like to switch instantly between playing lead and finger style picking. Here's why. When switching back and forth between styles you quickly roll this little beauty into the web of your middle finger between the knuckle joints of your picking hand. Once safetly tucked away, you switch to playing fingerstyle picking. Once you have mastered this move with minimal practice, you will switch between styles quickly in one fluid movement. Other guitarists on this site have already made comments on how well this pick performs with speed and accuracy. This is one fast little badboy, and you will never have to stick another pick between your lips, or teeth, ever again. Also noteworthy, If you love pinched harmonics, as I do, you will be hard pressed to ever find a better pick for the job. By the way, with practice, you can use this pick for strumming, but you have to hold on real tight. This is hard to do if you are playing fast and loose in the pocket. Lastly...The little black pick is also a great pick that performs in a similar manner as the red one. However, the red pick is much harder than the black one. The increased hardness of the red pick improves it's speed and accuracy, and makes playing pinched harmonics easier, with more consistency. Dunlop M237 MXR DC Brick Power Supply Review

First off, the form factor is really nice and small for crowded pedal boards, and all the cables are included. With eight (8) 9 volt outputs, and two (2) 18 volt outputs, this is pretty much exactly what I was looking for in a power solution. Immediately after installing, I noticed a dramatic drop in noise from some of my finicky Electro-Harmonix pedals including my Germanium 4 Big Muff which previously need a separate wall wart.

For those of you frustrated with the lack of information on this bag, here are some measurements. I looked all over the web and even called a few sellers, but nobody could tell me the exact size!! The measurements below are of my own acoustic, which fits snugly and safely in this bag with about 3/4" of play all around.

Approximate INSIDE dimensions:

Bag Height (inside the whole thing): 37"
Body height (the height of the body): 18"
Neck Height (narrow portion between the top of the body to top of bag): 19"

Review: Good durable material; not as thickly padded as I'd hoped. Padding is about only 1/2", but this is a GIG BAG, meaning a carrying bag for responsible players, and not a CASE. It won't protect your guitar from a good chunk onto the bed or floor like a hard case might, but offers enough protection so that you can transport it without unnecessary worry. Case has one back strap, a music book pocket on the front, and a nice handle on the side. A good, durable bag.

Zoom G1N Guitar Multi Effects Pedal Review

The Zoom G1n is an absolutely amazing pedal for $50!! You won't regret this purchase. The pre-programmed sounds are good, and there's alot of variety, plus it is very easy to make-up and store your own sounds, too. I don't know how the G1n pre-programmed sounds compare to the original G1, but there are plenty of useable sounds for just about any style you want to play. Some are a bit over the top for me, so most of my own sounds are a little mellower. The tuner is great, and the drum machine is good, too (though I don't use it much). My only complaints are that the ZNR noise reduction seems a bit agressive to me, and I wish the housing was metal not plastic. I kinda wish I'd spent the extra money on the G2-- may have to upgrade later! But it still gets 5 stars. I bought the Zoom over the comparable digitec pedal because it has a nicer interface and it comes with a power plug included. This thing works great and makes any cheapo solid state practice amp sound way better than it is!! You would have to buy tons of stomp-boxes to get close to what you can do with this cool pedal. Recommended.

Behringer BDI21 V-Tone Bass Amp Modeler Review

OK here are the facts:
1- I own a cheap bass. I admit it freely, and I don't regret it. Considering the economic times is just wise to choose the cheapest tool that will get the job done. I also admit that cheap instruments sound cheap, and my Memphis is no exception.
2- For expert ears, tonal coloring is no substitute of a good instrument. However for most listeners is just difficult (if not plain impossible) to distinguish between good and great.
3- Amplifiers are as important as the Bass for the final tone. So is technique (I don't like picks, fingers only), in fact a good player can make a crappy instrument sound good, and no matter how expensive your instrument, if you can't play it will show.

After the above disclaimers, I can totally assure you that THIS BOX IS AWESOME. First it makes your cheap instrument sound like is 5 times (in my case 10) more expensive. I use as a DI to an Edirol M-16DX mixer, then either via USB 2.0 to Apple Logic or to a pair of Behringer B215A 400 W Active speakers (yes they are behringer too, so wut?) I didn't buy the power cord, instead I have a steady supply of 9V (which I remove when the unit is not in use). Using the balanced output (XLR) there's no humm, dial the level up to get good volume, and dial the equalizer knobs to your liking (use your ears, finding the tones you like is not difficult). Is not great, but is very good, and considering its versatility and that unbeatable price, the Behringer BDI21 is a clear winner, not just for us in a budget, but also for beginners and mid level players. Just don't step on it.
