I have been playing guitar for a little over 10 years and I really love these strings. I have tried brands such as GHS, Ernie Ball, Dr, and more, but these seem to have one of the best feel. They have a real clarity in tone and are a great match especially for someone starting out playing, it will help their fingers not bleed as much because of the feel. The only brand that I think is a bit better is Dean Markley Blue Steels. They last longer, are brighter, and I am liking the feel a bit better as well. None the less, for the price and over all value, these strings are awesome, and even in my house, you will find a dozen sets ready to string up!

Put this on a Precision bass and looks great. Does not include screws but you can use pick guard screws from Fender or any #4 x 1/2 screws from your hardware store. This is the newer chrome pickup cover being installed on the recent American Vintage Series. The cover is very flat versus the very rounded ones found on the previous discontinued Vintage Reissue line. I think it looks better and actually feels better to play as the flat surface makes it easier to anchor on or move around.

I am a loyal D'Addario user. I usually buy standard strings but thought I would try the Pure Nickel. After using these on an LP Agile 3200, an Ibanez AM93 and my Strat I will not go back to the others. Warm tone, easy to bend and they seem to last though I use the GHS Fast Fret or Finger Ease to protect the strings.

Excellent set of strings. Great for any acoustic guitar.
I own La Patrie guitar which is known to be a little darker, but it's not entirely true, so I've purchased these strings to also come up with brightness.

First impressions?
I love these strings.
Excellent sound, haunting, almost otherworldy, great for quiet and slow passages and styles like new-age, ambient and folk. I like them in Normal tension, however you can also get high or very high tension for greater volume and even better trebles. They're in fact the best strings I've ever heard so far in 3 years time. Even I am beginner on the guitar, I used to listen to many guitarists and these strings are simply the best sounding.
The sound is bright, yet not overbright and without any loss in the low end.

I'd definitely recommend these to any musician. They are just $6 more expensive than EJ45, but the difference is night and day!

Planet Waves Custom Series Instrument Cable, 10 feet Review

Musicians are always on the prowl for instrument cables that are high in quality yet affordable. I may have found the grail with Planet Waves, from D'Addario. I have been very disappointed with other manufacturers, like Fender, Hosa or Whirlwind. I hate spending the huge bucks on cables by Monster or Mogami, although they are excellent.

This cable is constructed very well. I've had it for a year now, and it doesn't show any signs of wear, and I don't baby it. It has very large (thick) molded ends, about 3" long and 1/2" thick. It makes for a robust grip and relieves the strain very well. The ends are gold, the best for conductivity and corrosion resistance, and have a unique compression locking design. I've never had one pop out, but once in awhile I'll think I've inserted the connector all the way without really doing so. That's because you have to push them past the compression springs, and at times I have failed to do so.

The cable is double-insulated for durability and double-shielded for noise resistance. They sound clean, quiet and unattenuated. This is the kind of quality I have come to expect from D'Addario. I will highly recommend them to you. I will be sticking with Planet Waves for my cabling needs.

My first electric guitar was strung with GHS Boomers in 1985, and just a few days ago I restrung my Telecaster with Boomers. I've never found a string that compares. I stick to blues and 90's grunge, but you can throw any genre at them. As a hobby I play for 1/2 to 1 hour every day.
