Delay comes in many different flavors. The BEHRINGER EM600 gives you access to a vast palette of delays all in one amazing stomp box.

What is delay?

Delay is a synthetic echo that, in adjustable increments, repeats the notes you play on guitar. Each repeated tone becomes quieter than the previous one, until the repeats are no longer heard. This results in a thick, robust sound that can take on everything from the quick "engines" echo of classic rockabilly to the long, dreamy echoes found in psychedelic rock.

Multiple Personalities

The Echo Machine is essentially 11 delays in one pedal: Ping Pong, Reverse, two different multi-delays, Tracking, Sweep, Swirl, Slap and three different tap modes. BEHRINGER Real Sound Modeling technology gives this pedal the ability to emulate the acoustics of a variety of environments. Produce realistic cathedral-like echo in your bedroom or cave-like echo at the corner bar. Real Sound Modeling makes it possible!

Easy to Operate

You can choose to give the effect a digital, analog or tape delay feel via a dedicated switch. You can also choose to put lush, psychedelic tails behind every note you play, or a more abrupt delay that fades quickly. Sculpt it into a truly unique delay by twisting the dedicated Mix, Time, Repeat and Modulation dials. There's even a Tap function that allows you to dial in the delay tempo by rhythmically tapping the footswitch. You can power this stompbox with a 9 V battery or a DC Power Supply (not included).

Value

If you're gonzo for echo, the EM600 has the sonic palette to keep you delayed again and again.

Behringer EM600 Echo Machine Ultimate Echo Modeling Effects Pedal Review

The Behringer EM600 echo Machine.
I am an old Pro. I have been in the top league of the music & Recording & Touring industry nationally and internationally for 50 years.I am a Musician-Teacher-Audio Engineer-Producer.

I have used in order of time Selmer Echo Machine - Watkins Copy Cat- 4 x Gold Echolettes(absolutely brilliant-German design and manufacture), Dynachord Super 76(fantastic for Vocal-German design and manufacture)-Binson echo- - And in my Pro recording studios - The Fairlight CMI(Australian) - SPX 90's(Japan)- Yamaha Digital Rev 7(Japan)-Lexicons-Whites-Digitechs- and numerous others like the twin 24 bit systems in my Laney Tube Fusion Stage amp(British) with 3 channels- and Reverb systems with my Fender Showmans and Fender Dual Showmans(USA)and Twins.

Last year I was quoted 6000 British Pound for a taped echo machine (London) similar to the Echolette but with double the record heads (6). Just as a quirk I thought I would try a German design unit the Behringer EM600 foot pedal before buying the British expensive model seeing that Behringer was German design.

I had just finished a nostalgic album "Man of Mystery"-A Shadows collection in the main with my own originals)- using the Laney with its 2 X 24 bit Digital FX & with the 12AX7 for the overdrive I thought that the FX (the echo being just a sampler)would repeat the rolled off sustain of the 12AX7. Although the Album sounds great and better than the originals, the "twinkle Toes" sound of digital Echo drove me nuts.Particularly using EMG pickups.

I tried the Behringer EM600....... Wow! Fantastic.
*Simple
*Tape sound Analog Sound and Digital Sound (switchable)
*Stereo In and Out
*Battery and mains powered
*True Bypass
*Slap echo- Ping Pong echo - the varieties are endless and sound tremendous.
*Mod - Mix - Repeat - Time - Type (Tape-Digital-Analog)-Trails (off and on sliding switch)-
*Set the tempo of the echo with Taps (Standard and triplet taps)
*A Press and Hold function (over 2 seconds)
*Slap echo
*SWL and SWP echo
*Ducking
*Chorus - Multi 1 - Multi 2 - Ping Pong and Reverse
*Signal to noise on the thru put I measured at around 100dB which is fantastic.
*The genius that set this all in a minute footpedal no bigger than 50mm x 30mm x 25mm has got to be applauded from the housetops.
*The Price $80 AUD....(did you hear that! $80AUD which included postage from USA..I could not believe it!!)

Just by the nature of echoes the top end drops off by the second repeats (say in a Canyon). The Treble propagates by reflection and the bass propagates by resonance and spreads in an omni-directionally pattern. So real echoes don't have a top end say above 5K. It just turned that in the 60's the frequency response of tape in echo machines dropped off drastically at 5K onwards giving an authentic echo sound. But the setback was the tape noise and machine noise (the drive motors and capstans etc.) the tape wearing out (Echolettes were under 24/7 pressure)The heads wearing out dust and moisture being a factor.

SUMMING UP:
I have completed a further 3 albums with this Behringer EM600 and the unit is still as good as it was on day 1.
It is a 5 star unit for mine.

1.Functionality ---5 stars
2.Durability ------5 stars
3.Performance -----5 Stars
4.Price -----------5 stars
5.Freight ---------5 stars
6.Warranty-support-5 stars

If you are into those powerful sounds like in a canyon instead of a bathroom this is the device for you.
Go get it !!!
