I just love these strings. I have a few basses including a Gretsch Thunder Jet. It's an absolutely beautiful instrument but I've been luke-warm about its sound. I put some half-round stings on it and it just doesn't pop. I was contemplating selling it but decided to try these Tapewound string. WOW. That's exactly what it needed. That bass has an entirely new life and they are so smooth and fun to play. A plus is that it is a black bass and the strings are black too.

Medium length is what you want for something like a Gretsch Thunder Jet bass or any of its cousins like the Billy-Bo Bass. Also perfect for the Fender Mustang bass.
