If you're looking to protect your harp from dust and maybe protect if from a little rain/liquid this case will be fine. But if you're traveling and worried about commotion this case is pointless. I had this case and don't get me wrong, this case is better than NO case at all... but just barely.
Yes the material allows the instrument to breathe, but autoharp is a sensitive instrument and can get out of tune easily, not to mention tuning 36 strings takes quite a chunk of time, and isn't something you want to do more than you have to. The cloth covering front of the harp doesn't give it protection. The strings are still vulnerable to getting knocked around or bumped into, or even if something else leans against the strings you'll have to check the tuning. Not to mention while using this case the chips and dents that appeared.
I travel and play shows with my autoharp and at one of them some beer was spilled all over this case with the harp in it while I was loading out. The case DID protect the harp from the liquid. I thought maybe I found a benefit to this cloth case, I can wash it! However when I put it in the wash on the most delicate setting a hole ripped at the top. Within the next week every zipper had fallen off as well. A $30 pair of jeans wouldn't do that.
