I purchased these strings after working through three sets of the industry standard D'Addario EJ45 Pro-Arte Normal Tension strings, so I will try to compare the two. I got the D'Addario initially because they are cheap, and most people like them. However, they were not making the sound I wanted on my guitar (a very cheap Lucida LG-520). The sound with the D'Addarios was hollow and dull - probably due to my guitar, but D'Addarios were not helping it any. Since I am not yet at the level to buy a $600 guitar, I decided to try these strings due to reviewers indicating an increased brightness.

These strings really did make a difference for my cheap guitar.

The trebles are clear nylon and seem a little bit thinner than D'Addarios. The tone is bright, clean and very clear. Even the G-string which normally sounds very dull has increased brightness and clarity. The bases also sound great. They sound brighter and more metallic than the D'Addarios.

Overall, these are expensive strings, but for me they are worth it in terms of the sound they produce. If they last 3 months, I think it would be money well spent. After that, I will probably try the D'Addario EJ45C Pro-Arte Composite ($5 cheaper, and also great reviews).
